The latest version of the Hadrone PPM software has just been released to users. This version introduces many long-awaited features that will significantly impact the way the tool is used. Once again, we have taken into account our clients’ needs and their proposed improvements. In version v2.39 of Hadrone PPM, we introduced the following new features and enhancements:
1. Programs
We have introduced programs that group projects together. At the program level, budget limits and expected effects are set, and then budget usage and achievement of effects from the projects within the program are monitored. Periodic RAG reports are also available for programs. Creating, editing, viewing and deleting programs is also possible via new API methods.
2. Enhanced project creation and project templates
The project creation screen has been enhanced to allow quicker entry of multiple attributes describing the project at the time of creation. Additionally, we have introduced project templates, which speed up project creation by automatically filling in selected project attributes. Any number of project templates can be defined in the configuration.
3. Information on assignment of people to projects
We have introduced project grouping on the project list by people holding specific roles and global functions added in the configuration.
4. New configurable reminders
We have introduced configurable reminders regarding project verification, approval and closure, as well as approval of change requests.
5. Custom project fields
We have introduced the option to add custom descriptive fields for projects. These fields are created in the configuration and can then be used in projects. Additionally, the configuration allows the creation of field schemes, which serve as predefined sets of fields. Schemes can be assigned to projects, standardizing the scope of additional fields in a project (e.g., depending on the type of project) and automating their inclusion. Custom fields are available in reports, in the project card and its templates, in project templates and in API methods.
6. Extended project name
We have introduced the option to add an additional, longer project name. Using the extended project name is optional. It is available in reports, in the project card and its templates, as well as in API methods.
7. Sharing private notes in a project and displaying their count
We have introduced the option to share your private notes with other users. Shared notes are appropriately marked. We have also added information on the number of private notes in a project (next to the note icon).
8. Improved usability of strategic objectives functionality
We have introduced the following changes in the functionality of strategic objectives in portfolio monitoring:
- shortening the displayed objective name to improve readability in the objectives map,
- hiding/showing projects when a strategic objective is selected.
- Additionally, we have added the ability to deactivate and reactivate strategic objectives.
9. Expanded MS Teams integration with support for private channels
As part of the MS Teams integration, we have added support for private channels, which were recently introduced. Private channels can be used when user permissions need to be managed not at the team level, but at the level of individual channels.
10. A few additional minor changes:
- extension of the project schedule with graphical editing of activity progress and adding/removing FS (Finish-to-Start) dependencies between activities and milestones,
- extension of the expense entry screen with the ability to enable and configure automatic shifting of expenses,
- narrowing down the list of people in filters to those holding specific roles,
- extension of the project closing permission with the option to modify project classification for projects in the "Closing" status,
- addition of a bottom scroller on summary screens: Finances, Competencies, Outcomes, Balance,
- expansion of the "Username" field length to 100 characters.
